  • It wasn't that they were dropped "near populated areas." They were specifically dropped on populated civilian areas. That's a ridiculous claim - you have absolutely no proof of that. If they targeted civilians, they most definitely would kill more that 11 people...

  • What's your take on Russia's use of cluster bombs on Georgian civilians? How is this relevant to the current thread, especially to #2.12? I'll answer anyway. I think it's horrible that such weapons were used, what's even worse is that they used those bombs near populated areas.

  • So equipment and training equal a hand in the conflict??? First of all, I did not say anything about their hand in this conflict. Selling weapons and training troops, before the conflict, most definitely raises questions about their involvement. I fail to see how this is the case...

  • Also, do you sincerely believe Russia's military presence in South Ossetia was for "peacekeeping" purposes? Amongst others, yes. But since the UN issued the mandate, their reasons are perfectly legal. Hence interfering with them is illegal.

  • It's fascinating to me that the Left has embraced Putin. Then again it has always been fascinating to me how the Left embraced Stalin and Lenin. You did, it seems. Russia is a privileged nation. It is. No one is about to deny that.

  • Please elaborate as to why you believe Russia "did the right thing" by invading and occupying sovereign territory that isn't theirs? Again, meaningless commentary, Georgia has attacked the Russian peacekeepers, who were/are mandated by the UN.

  • The US is not much different in this regard. Its method is to launch a war in a region, but rather than occupy it, they install a sympathetic puppet government that needs to rely on them for military protection and then introduces US companies into the region. Only a fool would argue that.
